About the Managers & Professionals HS&E Test
The CSCS Manager and Professional CITB test ensures workers have a minimum level of health, safety and environmental awareness before going on site.
The HS&E test is made up of 50 questions covering five core knowledge areas:
- Legal and Management
- Health and Welfare
- General Safety
- High Risk Activities
- Environment
All CSCS Manager CITB Candidates will have 45 minutes to answer the 50 questions. The test now includes behavioural case studies which are also used in the test to check a candidate’s understanding of health, safety and environmental issues, and how to behave safely on-site.

Things a CSCS CITB Manager Needs To Do Before Going To A CSCS Test Centre:
Revise! Over 70% of candidates who fail did not revise. We can provide the tools you need to pass the CSCS Card Health and Safety Test.
If you require a CITB CSCS Manager revision book, then please add to the basket or ask at the time of booking.
The test centre staff are unable to deal with any booking enquiries, if you have any please contact us.
Make sure you do the following on the day of the test:
- Arrive at least 15 minutes before your test starts.
- Bring your confirmation booking email or letter.
- Bring your (ID) identification.
- Acceptable ID is:

- Photo Card Driving Licence
- A valid UK only driving licence showing their photograph and signature.
- Passport Of any nationality with a photograph of the examinee and their signature.
- If you have no suitable ID, you will not be tested, and this is a non-refundable service.

- After your test, you must keep your Score Report safe as it has important information on it relating to your card application. A charge is made for replacements.
About the Specialist HS&E tests
The tests include questions from core knowledge areas contained in the Operatives test as well as relevant questions in the chosen specialist area.
The Specialists test can be taken in the following topics:

- supervisory (SUP)
- demolition (DEM)
- plumbing (JIB) (PLUM)
- highway works (HIW)
- specialist work at height (WAH)
- lifts and escalators (LAEE)
- tunnelling (TUNN)
- HVACR – heating and plumbing services (HAPS)
- HVACR – pipefitting and welding (PFW)
- HVACR – ductwork (DUCT)
- HVACR – refrigeration and air conditioning (RAAC)
- HVACE – services and facilities maintenance (SAF)
The pass mark for each of the specialist tests is 90%. To pass, you need to answer at least 45 out of 50 questions correctly.
