What do you need to get a Labourer Green CSCS Card?
Since 2014 when CSCS replaced the Operatives Green Card, under the guidance of CITB you require two things:
- A Valid CITB Health Safety and Environment Score Report / Certificate
- A Valid Qualification such as the Level 1 Award in Health Safety in a Construction Environment
Both of these are included in this package

If you already have Level 1 Award in Health Safety in a Construction Environment Certificate and Qualification then you do not need to do the course again as this is a lifetime award.

Individuals working in skilled occupations should not apply for this card, as it is exclusively for unskilled workers and indicates to employers that the holder is not engaged in a recognised training pathway. Possession of a Labourer card while employed in a skilled occupation will result in denial of site access.
The Labourer card remains valid for five years and is non-renewable. Upon expiry, you must apply for a new Labourer card.
Applicants are required to pass the CITB health, safety, and environment test for operatives and possess one of the following qualifications:
- Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment (Scotland Level 4)
- Scottish Level 5 REHIS Elementary Health and Safety Certificate
- NOCN/ CSkills Awards Construction Health and Safety (F/618/0738) unit
