Types Of Official CSCS Cards From the Construction Skills Certification Scheme

Types of cards

CSCS issue a number of cards which reflect the different occupations and qualifications in construction.

Labourer

The Labourer card is for those carrying out labouring duties on site.

Apprentice

The Apprentice card is for those on a recognised apprenticeship and is issued free of charge.

Experienced Technical, Supervisor or Manager

This card is available specifically to Supervisors, Managers and Technical Workers with on-the-job experience.

Experienced Worker

This temporary card is available specifically for workers with on the job experience registered to a complete a Construction Related NVQ or SVQ Level 2 or higher.

Trainee Card

The Trainee card is for trainees registered to complete a construction related qualification.

This temporary card is for those undergoing a construction-related qualification or training programme requiring the completion of a minimum 30 day work placement, such as T-Levels or Trainee Skills Development Programmes.

Blue Skilled Worker

The Blue Skilled Worker card is for those who have achieved a construction related NVQ or SVQ level 2 or an apprenticeship, such as an Employer sponsored apprenticeship, a City and Guilds of London Institute Craft Certificate or a CSCS Approved Trailblazer.

Gold Skilled Worker

The Gold Skilled Worker cards is for those who have achieved a Construction Related NVQ or SVQ level 3, completed an indentured apprenticeship or an employer sponsored apprenticeship which included the achievement of a City and Guilds of London Institute Advanced Craft Certificate.
